  • Produced using tool steel forged or rolled bars and HTS proprietary additive manufacturing technology.
  • A single-body component with equal mechanical properties as tool steel monoblock.
  • Cooling channels are customized according to plunger thermal management requirements.
  • Available models for different machine sizes and applications.
  • Highly customizable

HTS DIFFERENCE

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Based on MFT™ and DED technologies we produce components with conformal cooling / flow design and mechanical properties of a forged tool steel block.

SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE

iTherm® components have a big impact on cooling and material flow, resulting in shorter cycle times, higher cast/moulded part quality and subsequentially also productivity.

SOLUTION ORIENTED

Years of experience and R&D of HTS Group companies, combined with leading OEM customer partnerships gives us knowledge and capacity to help you improve your productivity.

Advantages over conventional plunger

Enhanced design flexibility for cooling channels

Compared to a conventionally made plunger, Performa plunger gives you extra flexibility to bring cooling channels near the critical zones.

More uniform heat distribution on the working surface

The Performa Plunger ensures more uniform heat distribution across its surface, leading to faster and more even cooling compared to conventional plungers.

Longest lifetime on the market

The conformal cooling of the steel allows the heat removal rate to surpass that of BeCu tips while extending its lifetime due to low transient stresses in the membrane.

Our customers have reported:

Prevents premature aluminum solidification

During the pouring stage, the Performa Plunger maintains a higher temperature than other plungers, due to the low heat capacity of its steel membrane, preventing early aluminum solidification.

Rapid biscuit cooling

Due to high Performa Plunger cooling effectiveness, extreme temperature drop occurs in the injection/pressurization phase, resulting in rapid biscuit cooling

Cycle time reduction

Due to the supreme thermal management characteristics of Performa Plungers, their usage results in up to 15% shorter cycle time.
