SIRAPID high speed steels are alloyed with molybdenum and tungsten, achieving high hardness in both hot and cold work applications, while at the same time providing wear and shock resistance. Hardened to 62 - 67 HRC it maintains this hardness well even at the temperatures tool steels are used at. Due to its exceptional properties, SIRAPID steels are used for:
Cutting tools (knives, drill bars, milling cutters, etc.)
Rolls for cold rolling
Cold-work tools.
